Work has already started transforming two former takeaways on Tonypandy’s Dunraven Street into one large Domino’s Pizza store. The launch of the new <a href="http://www.dominos.co.uk/ourstores/Pontyclun.aspx"title="" >pizza delivery outlet spells good news for the South Wales town as it will bring 30 new jobs to the area including positions for store managers, team leaders, pizza making jobs, roles for customer advisers and delivery drivers.

Tej Randeva, franchisee of the new Domino’s store in Tonypandy, said: “We’re looking to employ people who live in the community that we’ll be serving. It’s also vital to be able to maintain a sense of fun while working under pressure.”

Tej, the 30 year old businessman who opened the Pontyclun outlet in October of 2009. Wales International rugby star Ryan Jones cut the ribbon at the official opening of the Pontyclun store, and a similar high profile grand opening ceremony is planned for the new Tonypandy branch, so keep in touch for more details.

Domino’s Pizza in Pontyclun were delighted to welcome Wales Rugby Captain, Ryan Jones to the brand new store last night as part of the outlet’s grand opening celebrations.

The international rugby player cut the ribbon to declare the store officially open. The Osprey star really got into the spirit of things, donning a Domino’s Pizza uniform complete with apron, hat and name badge.

Under the watchful eye of the new staff at Domino’s Pizza Pontyclun, Ryan got down to the important business of pizza making. Despite admitting he hadn’t made a pizza since cooking classes at school, with store franchisee Tej Randeva on hand to offer pizza making tips, the rugby star managed to create his own Domino’s pizza from scratch.

Ryan Jones at Domino's Pizza Pontyclun

When asked what would be his idea of pizza heaven, Ryan admitted he’s a fan of “spicy and meaty” pizzas, but his pizza hell would be a plain cheese and tomato topped pizza which the Wales skipper thinks is “just a waste of a good pizza!”

Ryan Jones cutting pizza

The rugby ace handled the pressure in the kitchen with ease, but later admitted he’s a keen chef at home and often cooks up Sunday roasts and barbeques in the summer for friends and family.

One lucky Domino’s Pizza customer had the unexpected privilege of having their pizza order hand delivered by Ryan Jones in the Domino’s Ferrari. After trying his hand as a <a href="http://www.dominos.co.uk/ourstores/Pontyclun.aspx"title="" >pizza delivery man, I asked Ryan if he could have anyone deliver him a pizza, who would it be? “Cheryl Cole” was the first answer, but after a bit more consideration the Osprey star revised his answer to Mongolian Emperor, “Ghenghis Khan” – can’t say I saw that one coming!

With the Autumn Internationals looming, the Domino’s Pizza store in Pontyclun were grateful the Wales captain was able to take time out to visit the outlet’s official opening. The 29-year-old sportsman says on a personal level, he’d love to beat the All Blacks in the upcoming season:

“I’ve played against the All Blacks in games where we’ve lost badly, and when we’ve come really close to beating them, so it would be nice to finally get that win over New Zealand and to make a bit of history”

With thanks to rugby star Ryan Jones and all the staff at Domino’s in Pontyclun, the new outlet celebrated its grand opening in style, but the celebrations don’t end there; the store is offering an exclusive buy one get one free offer on all pizza collections from the new Pontyclun outlet.

If you live in the South Wales area, you can’t afford to miss out on the great deals on offer at Domino’s Pizza Ponytclun so get down to the new store today to make the most of these one-off discounts.

Domino’s, the local <a href="http://www.dominos.co.uk/ourstores/Pontyclun.aspx"title="" >pizza delivery expert, is set to create around 30 full and part-time jobs when its new Pontyclun store opens in autumn 2010.

Planning permission has just been granted on appeal for the store on Cowbridge Road, bringing with it a welcome employment boost for the area.

Domino’s Pizza will be recruiting within the community for trainee managers, trainee pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts.

The franchisee for the new Pontyclun store is local young business man, Tej Randeva, aged 30 from Llantrisant,

Tej Randeva, franchisee of the new Domino’s store said; “It’s been a long time coming but I am absolutely delighted we now have the go ahead for our new store in Pontyclun. I’m disappointed we had to go to appeal for approval, but we got the decision we wanted in the end and I just can’t wait to get my new team onboard. We are looking to employ people who live in the community that we’ll be serving. First and foremost, we’ll be looking for people who can deliver great customer service and demonstrate strong teamwork skills, as well as boundless enthusiasm. It’s also vital to be able to maintain a sense of fun while working under pressure.”

Domino’s Pizza believes in opportunities for all. The company is an Age Positive Employer Champion, which means that it has been recognised for its commitment to welcoming applicants of all ages. Domino’s will be recruiting on the basis of ability and, as many team members go on to management positions in under two years, this recruitment drive is a fantastic opportunity for jobseekers in Pontyclun.

At induction, as well as throughout their career, Domino’s offers its employees full training, ranging from dough management and food hygiene for pizza makers through to road safety for pizza delivery experts. Domino’s always recruits from the surrounding area and, with an additional focus on developing strong community links, aims to deliver more than just great tasting pizza. In particular, Domino’s supports Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB) on both a national and local level. SOGB provides people with learning disabilities opportunities to take part in year-round sports training and competition.

The new store is set to open in autumn 2010 and is located at Unit 2, 36 Cowbridge Road, Pontyclun CF72 9EE

Details of how to apply for jobs at Domino’s in Pontyclun will soon be available on the new store’s website –

A brand new Domino’s Pizza outlet could be set for Pontyclun, Llantrisant, providing it gets the green light from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.

The introduction of the new Domino’s Pizza store would bring a huge boost to the Pontyclun area along with creation of 30 jobs for local people.

The council will consider the proposal on March 11th. However Domino’s are positive that the potential to create so many jobs for local workers will weigh heavily in their favour.

Should permission be granted for the franchise, two store managers jobs would be created, long with 28 other positions ranging from delivery driver, customer service operators, and trainee pizza makers. Domino’s has a fantastic track record for offering opportunities to ambitious individuals with many employees working their way up the ranks and gaining a managerial position within two years.

South Wales based businessman, Tej Randeva, is the proposed franchisee for the new venture. Tej has considerable experience in the business arena and currently runs a limousine brokerage company, Limo Broker, and a coach hire brokerage company, Coach Broker, from his base in Cardiff Bay. The 29-year-old also picked up the award for Fastest Growing Business in 2003 for his brand of insurance brokers in South Wales.

A spokesperson for Domino’s Pizza said they are very excited about the new venture and hope to bring locals jobs, and delicious pizza, to the Pontyclun area in the very near future.
