Domino's Pizza steps up its expansion plans with another new store opening in South Woodham Ferrers

Domino’s Pizza continues to power ahead with its expansion plans with the news that another new site has been located for a new branch of the home pizza delivery service.

South Woodham Ferrers in Chelmsford has been announced as the next location for a brand new Domino’s Pizza outlet after a spokesperson for the company confirmed the news this week.

A site on Brickfields Road near the town centre has been earmarked for the new Domino’s Pizza store. It’s good news for the local area as the introduction of the new store will create up to 35 jobs for local people. Positions including pizza delivery drivers, pizza makers, customer service advisers and also store manager roles will be available at South Woodham Ferrers’ new outlet.

Domino’s Pizza has 643 stores up and running throughout the UK, however the ambitious company has set itself a target of opening a further 55 outlets by the end of the year, plus they plan to have 1,200 stores nationwide by 2021.

A brand new store in Pontyclun, South Wales is due to open on Monday October 4^th which will further boost Domino’s chances of achieving their goal.

The official opening date for the new Domino’s Pizza outlet in Chelmsford has not been announced, however it’s expected to open before the end of the year.

The online service offered by home pizza delivery giant Domino’s Pizza has helped boost sales by 40% this year, with a 69% rise in orders taken via their website in the last quarter of this year.

Buoyed by the rising online sales, and strong trading via its 600 stores in the UK, analysts are predicting pre-tax profits for the financial year of between £33.5 million – £36.6 million for Domino’s Pizza.

The pizza chain’s expansion plans are also helping to keep sales high. The company has opened 16 new stores across the UK in the last quarter, compared to 7 new stores during the same period last year.

Domino’s, the local pizza delivery expert, is set to create around 30 full and part-time jobs when its new Pontyclun store opens in autumn 2010.

Planning permission has just been granted on appeal for the store on Cowbridge Road, bringing with it a welcome employment boost for the area.
