Pizza van business under threat in Kent

A pizza van business offering freshly made pizzas to residents in the Sevenoaks area of Kent is under threat after the council issued the owners with a notice to move the van.

Brothers Danilo and Marco Gigliucci launched the pizza van business just three months ago and say their service has been welcomed by the locals.

However the council have instructed the brothers to move their mobile food van as they argue that the vehicle is taking up parking spaces in the industrial park which should be left free for others.

The pizza van is the latest venture for the brothers who also run the Fenice Food and Wine Catering Supplies Warehouse. The duo say their takeaway service has been very well receive by the locals, and that even the older generation in the village have welcomed them.

As well as offering a selection of pizzas, the brothers have plans to branch out by offering other Italian cuisine such as pasta dishes, lasagne and Sicilian sausages. However the plans to extend their menu have had to be put on hold while they fight to keep their van in operation.

Although the Gigliucci brothers underwent a Health and Safety review before opening their pizza van business, they were unaware they were also required to make an application for planning.

Marco and Danilo are planning to apply for retrospective “change of use” consent for the plot were their van is parked in order to save their latest venture.
