Pizza giant Papa John’s have launched a brand new double bacon six cheese pizza just in time for Thanksgiving.

The pizza is currently only available in the US and will be on offer until Christmas. Papa John’s, the world’s third largest pizza provider, chose to launch their new bacon pizza on Thanksgiving as the pizza takeaway giant noted a sharp rise in the number of orders it was receiving during this time of the year.

The double bacon six cheese pizza from Papa John’s is certain to satisfy even the biggest appetites as its topped with two types of bacon including hickory smoked bacon and Canadian bacon, and finished off with six cheeses including mozzarella, parmesan, romano, asiago, provolone and fontino cheese.

Although turkey is traditionally associated with Thanksgiving, Papa John’s decided to opt for a bacon topped pizza after a recent study found that the average American ate 17 pounds of turkey every year, but 17.9 pounds of bacon.

The new double bacon pizza can be ordered over the phone or online via the company’s revamped website. The new website offers customer the chance to create their own pizza building up the toppings using a specially designed computer graphic. If you order online you’ll also be able to take advantage of Papa John’s new online loyalty card scheme so you can collect points which are converted into cash and can be redeemed against future orders.
