A brand new Pizza Hut outlet has been given the green light which will bring the pizza giant’s tally of outlets in the High Wycombe area to three.
The latest Pizza Hut store will create 20 new jobs in High Wycombe including delivery staff, pizza makers, and also managerial positions. The new outlet will be open 7 days a week for both collections and deliveries at its new site on Castle Street.
Two concerns were raised during the planning application process, one over the parking outside the proposed site, and also the issue of a saturation of fast food outlets in the area as a rival Pizza takeaway, Domino’s Pizza, is situated on the same road as the new Pizza Hut site.
However after much deliberation, Wycombe District Council granted permission, deciding that it would be better to have an “occupied premises than an empty one.”
One condition of the planning permission is that extractor fans are installed to filter the cooking smells from the Pizza Hut kitchens so that residents living in the flats above the Pizza Hut are not affected by the new development.
The opening of new premises in High Wycombe is part of Pizza Hut’s wider expansion plans as the fast food provider is aiming to open a further 50 different restaurants across the UK by the end of the year.
