New Domino’s Pizza outlet opens in Bath

A new Domino’s Pizza outlet has opened in Bath on the site of a former pub.

Domino’s Pizza moved into the site on London Road which has been empty for the last 18 months. However the grand opening earlier this week was delayed by several hours as the phone lines were down and so the new outlet was unable to receive telephone orders.

The new outlet replaces the old Domino’s on Walcot Street which closed last week ahead of the new store opening on Monday.

The new Domino’s Pizza store has also applied to the local council for a late license to serve takeaway pizzas until 5am every day. The council were due to consider the application earlier this year, however the decision has been adjourned as more information was needed before a judgement could be reached.

The application has been met by some objections from local residents who fear the extended opening hours may encourage people to congregate outside the outlet, disturbing those who live nearby.

The Domino’s store currently has permission to serve pizza until 1am Monday to Saturday and until 11.30pm on Sunday nights.

Domino’s Pizza is one of the world’s leading home pizza delivery companies boasting franchises in more than 60 countries and a workforce of 145,000 employees worldwide.
