Top Edinburgh pizza restaurant and takeaway, La Favorita, has kept its loyal customers well fed during the cold snap as they battled with the elements to ensure all takeaway orders were delivered.

While much of the city of Edinburgh came to a standstill as the arctic conditions hit bringing with it several inches of snow, the award-winning pizza restaurant kept going.

With a fleet of La Favorita Mini Coopers and experienced delivery drivers, the takeaway was able to deliver all pizza orders in under 40 minutes in the majority of cases. The pizzas are also delivered in specially designed magnetic pizza plates to ensure food is piping hot and delicious when it arrives.

La Favorita, who were recently named the UK’s Best Pizza Restaurant at the Pizza, Pasta, and Italian Food Association Awards (PAPA), said they noted a 50% increase in the number of takeaway pizza orders they have been receiving since the snow fell. With some of the stores running low on supplies, and people preferring to not venture out in the cold, pizza deliveries have been and especially popular option.

While the Edinburgh eatery reported a surge in takeaway orders, on the flip side, they found that the number of people coming out to eat in the restaurant declined during the snowy weather.
