Leading pizza delivery providers, Domino’s, will appoint a new chief executive by the end of the year after their current chief steps down after 20 years with the company.

The man lined up to take over the role of Domino’s Pizza UK Chief Executive from Chris Moore is reported to be Tesco Mobile boss Lance Batchelor.

It’s been reported Mr Batchelor will leave his role at Tesco at the end of February, taking on the position of chief executive-designate with Domino’s from March. The former Tesco boss will remain in this role for the first 6 months, before taking over as Domino’s Chief executive when Chris Moore leaves the position at the end of 2011.

Stepping into the shoes of the highly successful Mr Moore won’t be an easy task. Having joined Domino’s in 1990 as European Marketing Manager, Chris Moore has enjoyed a long and successful career with the pizza giant. Since taking over as chief executive in 2008, Domino’s has seen profits rise, and also an increase in their share prices.

Tesco confirmed that Lance Batchelor will leave the company at the end of February to pursue a “brilliant opportunity” but did not specify with which company. Mr Batchelor has been with Tesco for three years, joining the leading supermarket as a marketing director in 2007.
