David Wild Takes Over From Lance Batchelor as Dominos Pizza CEO

halfords_2280936bToday marks a significant date in the Dominos Pizza calendar, the day that David Wilde takes over as CEO of the group.

David Wild, the ex-Halfords boss who only joined Domino’s as a non-executive director in November, will become acting chief executive immediately. This news comes after the announcement of Lance Batchelor leaving his position as CEO back in December, moving over to Saga to continue on his career path.

Although taking to a new role in a private equity backed company it is safe to say that Lance has left a great legacy of retail achievement behind him at Dominos.

While we do not know the full extent of his new position we can be confident in thinking that he will flourish in his new endeavour.

Stephen Hemsley, Non-Executive Chairman, commented:

“We are delighted that David will be joining Domino’s permanently as Chief Executive Officer. Since becoming Interim CEO in January, he has impressed the board with his passion and understanding of both the Company and our franchisees. He has brought clarity of thought to our strategy, both in how to progress in the UK and Internationally. Having conducted a full and thorough recruitment process, we are confident he is the best person to take the business forward.”

David Wild added:

“Since taking on the CEO role on an interim basis it has been clear to me that Domino’s is a fantastic company with a strong brand, quality products and excellent people. I have very much enjoyed the full time role within the business and look forward to continuing to work closely with our franchisees to grow the business across all of our geographic regions.”

It seems that there are high hopes for the budding entrepreneur but only time will tell whether or not he can fill Batchelor’s boots successfully.
