Award winning pizza making skills obviously runs in the family at an independent pizza takeaway in Doncaster after two brothers took home a national prize for their pizza, the same award their father won before them.

The Hayati family run the Red Tomato Pizza Takeaway in Doncaster, Wheatley Hills and have been delivering delicious pizzas in the area for some time. While they’ve known for some time their pizzas were the best in the UK, they now have the trophy to prove it after brothers Comron and Darius Hayati picked up the Pizza Chef of the Year 2010 Award.

The competition was organised by the Pizza and Pasta Association which pits Italian restaurants and pizza takeaways from across the country against each other to discover who the best in Britain is.

The Hayati brothers beat off stiff competition from leading pizza eateries across the UK to win the national prize. After winning the Northern heat of the competition, the pair headed down to the national final in London where they were named the overall winners.

Former Pizza Chef of the Year winner, Parviz Hayati and father to Comron and Darius said he was “very proud” of his boys’ achievement, adding that they probably won because “they listened to their old man.”
