Planning application submitted for a new Domino's Pizza outlet in Melksham

An application has been made to Wiltshire Council for permission to launch a brand new Domino’s Pizza outlet in the town of Melksham.

The introduction of the new Domino’s Pizza outlet in the Wiltshire town, which is situated just 12 miles from the city of Bath, would bring up to 20 new jobs to the local area. A variety of positions would be available at the Melksham branch of Domino’s, should the new outlet get the green light, including managerial positions, pizza maker roles, customer service staff and also pizza delivery drivers.

The application for planning has been put forward by multiple Domino’s Pizza franchisee, Pali Grewal. The businessman already operates Domino’s Pizza outlets in Chippenham, Trowbridge and Devizes.

Mr Grewal chose Melksham as the location for his next outlet as he noticed customers from the Melksham travelling to his other Domino’s Pizza stores in Wiltshire to buy their takeaways.

The site earmarked for the new Domino’s Pizza store is a former derelict building which the franchisee is planning to completely modernise while still retaining the character of the old building.

A decision over whether or not the new Domino’s Pizza outlet can go ahead in Melksham is expected in early November.

If Mr Grewal gets the go-ahead, he plans to have the new takeaway pizza store up and running as soon as possible.
